Six positions on the FIAT/IFTA Executive Council will become vacant at the next General Assembly, to be held on Thursday, 8 October 2026, during the FIAT/IFTA World Conference 2026 at Cinemateca Brasileira in São Paulo, Brazil. We are inviting representatives of FIAT/IFTA full member organisations to consider standing for election.

Under the FIAT/IFTA Statutes, the Executive Council manages the federation. It is composed of up to twelve members, elected by secret vote of the General Assembly for a four-year term and drawn from the federation’s full members, with renewal taking place by halves at each ordinary General Assembly.

Members of the Executive Council are expected to combine strategic thinking with practical engagement. They contribute to the development of FIAT/IFTA’s strategic direction, actively support the federation’s initiatives, and demonstrate a willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects. This may involve volunteering time and expertise, assisting with the organisation of activities, and encouraging participation from colleagues and professional networks. Members are expected to work collaboratively, exercise sound judgement, and contribute to the effective delivery of the federation’s objectives.

Candidacy is open to individuals representing FIAT/IFTA full member organisations. Any individual elected to Council office serves in a personal capacity, meaning that this office is not transferable to another representative of their organisation.

A Full Member unable to attend may mandate another Full Member to vote on its behalf. If needed, complete the proxy form at least 24 hours before the Assembly begins. No Full Member may hold more than one proxy.
