Karin van Arkel has stepped down from the Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision and, as a result, from her position as FIAT/IFTA General Secretary. She will be starting a new role at the KB, National Library of the Netherlands. Delphine Wibaux, current FIAT/IFTA Vice-President and Membership Secretary, will serve as interim General Secretary until the General Assembly this October.

Karin’s involvement with FIAT/IFTA began through the Media Management Commission, before she joined the Executive Council in 2022 at the World Conference in Cape Town. Two years later, she took on the role of General Secretary at the World Conference in Bucharest. She has been a warm and familiar presence at conferences and seminars, always generous in sharing innovative use cases with the community.

FIAT/IFTA is deeply grateful to Karin for her dedication to the Executive Council over the years, and especially for her thoughtful leadership as General Secretary these past two years. She leaves behind a network of colleagues who have valued her work and commitment, and above all, her insight and creativity.

FIAT/IFTA welcomes Delphine, Head of International Affairs at INA, into the role of Interim General Secretary. A familiar and active presence within the organization, Delphine is well known to members through her work as Vice-President and Membership Secretary, and the federation looks forward to her steady guidance in the months ahead, leading up to the General Assembly.
