Challenges & Exploratory Approaches Digital Archival Collections

AVRA - Open Input Session for Archivists

The Audiovisual Research Alliance (AVRA), in collaboration with the FIAT/IFTA’s Value, Use and Copyright Commission, have commissioned research on understanding new explorations of audiovisual digital archival collections. The research looks into alternative ways of interacting with A/V Archives – shifting from conventional search to more exploratory approaches like generous/fluid interfaces, polyvocal storytelling, participatory annotation, expanded interactions (e.g. AR, audio walks etc.) and archival installations, data viz, and narrated curator stories that guide visitors through moving image collections.

Researcher Nadia Piet would love to engage in conversation with archivists to bring in more perspectives on the opportunities and challenges of this changing field. Please join her for an open input session on JUL 28th at 14:00-15:00 CEST online.
