Welcoming Louise Broch as Commission Chair

Louise Broch brings more than 25 years of experience as an Archive Researcher at DR, where she has worked extensively with research and archiving in a public service media environment. Throughout her career, she has played a key role in developing and adapting research workflows to strengthen the relevance and visibility of archival collections within the corporation.

In addition to her research background, Louise has broad experience in curation and in promoting archive materials across multiple platforms. This includes writing and commissioning articles that highlight archival content for DR’s streaming platform.

Louise is already a familiar and valued presence within the VUC, having previously served as its co-chair. FIAT/IFTA warmly welcomes her into the Chair position and looks forward to her leadership as the Commission continues to address the evolving challenges and opportunities surrounding access, rights, and value creation in audiovisual archives.

Thanks to Dale Grayson

FIAT/IFTA would like to extend its sincere thanks to Dale Grayson for his commitment and leadership as Chair of the VUC over the past years.

Dale’s work has been instrumental in guiding discussions on rights and the evolving value of audiovisual archives during a period of significant change for the sector. Under his leadership, the Commission explored key topics such as generative AI and the commercial value of archives.

His knowledge, generosity, and kindness have left a lasting impact on FIAT/IFTA, the VUC, and its members. We wish him all the very best in this new chapter of his life.

About the VUC

The Value, Use and Copyright Commission provides a forum for FIAT/IFTA members and experts to work collaboratively on the valorization, exploitation, and opening up of audiovisual collections, with a strong focus on the end user.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Commission plans to continue exploring key topics such as Generative AI in Audiovisual Archives, Rights and Risk, and the Financial Value of Archives. The VUC will also deepen its reflection on the relationship between Archives and Ethics, building on discussions initiated during last year’s Experts Roundtables.

FIAT/IFTA looks forward to this new chapter for the VUC and to the important work ahead under its renewed leadership.
