Initially celebrated as a composer and performer in contemporary electronic music, he pivoted to focus on audiovisual archiving in 2001. Over the last 16 years of his career, he made significant strides in preserving audiovisual materials, most notably through his leadership in the Presto Projects. These EU-backed initiatives have transformed practices in audiovisual preservation across Europe, enhancing our ability to safeguard cultural heritage.

In a recent interview, Daniel reflected on his dual passions: “Whether in music or archiving, I’ve always aimed to push boundaries and find new ways to preserve cultural heritage.” This mindset has propelled him to the forefront of both fields, demonstrating that creativity knows no boundaries.
