World Conference 2023

Call for Proposals: Deadline extension

World Conference 2023

New Call for Proposals deadline: 14 April.

We’ve chosen Blame it on the algorithm! as this year’s theme; the 2023 FIAT/IFTA World Conference will follow up closer than ever on what’s going on at the crossroads of media, technology and content. For the first time in four years, the FIAT/IFTA World Conference is again an in-person event in Europe. Media managers, archivists, researchers, developers, strategists, and service and goods providers will confront their well-informed opinions in presentations, keynotes, workshops and discussion sessions. Our forum will be Locarno, a vibrant city with an impressive track record in the history of audiovisual media, charmingly draped on the Lago Maggiore, with some stunning Alpine peaks acting as its magnificent backdrop.

We welcome proposals based on user experiences, new initiatives or perspectives, striking conclusions, and successes but also failures. The main objective is for audiovisual archive professionals to share, to understand the lessons learned and where new challenges or solutions might arise, wherever your archive is on the timeline. Suggestions for subjects not mentioned are equally welcome but should be contextualised thoroughly.
