In accordance with the Statutes and on behalf of the President and Executive Council, it is hereby announced that the General Assembly of the International Federation of Television Archives (FIAT/IFTA) took place in Warsaw on October 13th 2016. The General Assembly was convened, as published in the programme of the World Conference, in the Copernicus Science Centre. The agenda was as stipulated in the Statutes. Any suggestions for additions to the agenda had to be made in writing to the General Secretary.
As always, the main business of the General Assembly was to include the election of the President of the Federation and the election of six from Full Member organisations to serve on the Executive Council. Members who wished to nominate themselves or others for any of these had done so by selecting and completing the relevant nomination form and sending them it to the General Secretary.
We are proud to announce that Bríd Dooley (RTÉ) will be FIAT/IFTA’s new President for the next two years. The 6 newly elected EC members are: Jacqui Gupta (BBC), Dorothy Donnan (Al Arabiya), Rita Marques (TV GLOBO), Daniel Teruggi (Ina), Roberto Rossetto (RAI) and Theo Mäusli (SRG SSR).
