2019 Media Studies Grant: papers published!
The Media Studies Grant was set up in 2014 by the FIAT/IFTA Media Studies Commission to enhance the collaboration between research and archive communities. Furthermore it tries to ensure the valorization of academic knowledge for archival practice as well as to promote research of holdings of member television archives.
After a call launched in April, the FIAT/IFTA Media Studies Grant 2019 was awarded to Juan José Boté of the University of Barcelona and to Antonio Cuartero of the University of Malaga. Dr. Boté has focused his research on how the traditional celebrations of Sant Jordi are represented in the archive of TV3. Dr. Cuartero’s research is about the regional RTVA and the national RTVE in Spain try to reach younger audience with their archival materials.
As a result of their work, both researchers delivered a presentation for the FIAT/IFTA conference in Dubrovnik (Boté’s presentation and Cuartero’s presentation) and also the full texts of their research reports are now published on the FIAT/IFTA Publications page.
