In Memoriam Ingrid Veenstra (NISV)
From the Netherlands tragic news has reached us recently about the passing away of Ingrid Veenstra. As an experienced archives manager at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision Ingrid was also an active member of the FIAT/IFTA Media Management Commission up until a few years ago.
Ingrid Veenstra passed away on 27 January. She was a fine, modest and beautiful person, holding various positions at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision (NISV) since 2001. She started as a senior AV documentalist and moved onto management roles in ‘News, Current Affairs and Sport’ and in ‘Selection and Registration’. Since 2015 she held the role of Portfolio Manager. She worked also on an international level and soon enough close ties and friendships grew. From 2009 until 2015 Ingrid was actively involved in the Media Management Commission (MMC) of FIAT/IFTA. She was an essential part in the organisation of the Media Management Seminars in Toronto (2011), in her own home town Hilversum (2013) and in Glasgow (2015).
Working with Ingrid was a pleasure. She was a strong support for her colleagues at NISV and FIAT/IFTA, an excellent sparring partner to forge new plans, a quick thinker with an investigative attitude and strong determination. Ingrid was enormously involved, not only in her work at NISV but also in the ups and downs of colleagues. Although she always took her work very seriously, she could also consider everything with humor and put things in the right perspective.
Also in the FIAT/IFTA community Ingrid will be missed immensely. By means of a direct message of our President Bríd Dooley, the FIAT/IFTA Executive Council has offered condolences to her colleagues, friends and family.
