FIAT/IFTA General Secretary Highlights AI Ethics and Collaboration in a Capacity-building Session in Warsaw

On June 5th, the General Secretary of FIAT/IFTA, Virginia Bazán-Gil, participated in a training session organized by Filmoteka Narodowa – Instytut Audiowizualny and Fundacja Centrum Cyfrowe in Warsaw, Poland. The session focused on artificial intelligence (AI), discussing it from the perspectives of ethics, rights, and its application in production.
During the session, experts delved into the ethical implications of AI in audiovisual production, addressing critical issues such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the preservation of creative integrity. Virginia Bazán-Gil highlighted the ongoing work of FIAT/IFTA’s commissions, emphasizing initiatives to integrate AI responsibly within the industry. She also underscored the importance of global collaboration among audiovisual experts to navigate the evolving landscape of AI technology.
Warsaw remains a key city for FIAT/IFTA, boasting an active audiovisual sector. The organization previously had the opportunity to collaborate with this vibrant community during the 2017 conference. Building on this strong foundation, FIAT/IFTA looks forward to future collaborations with Warsaw’s audiovisual professionals.
