Today, FIAT/IFTA, in collaboration with the Coordinating Council of Audiovisual Archives Associations (CCAAA) and leading global professional associations, celebrates the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage. Alongside our partners—including AMIA, FIAF, FOCAL International, IASA, ICA, IFLA, SEAPAVAA, and many others—we honor the commitment of institutions and professionals worldwide dedicated to preserving, restoring, and ensuring access to the world’s invaluable audiovisual and cinematographic heritage.
Each day, dedicated archivists, conservators, and organizations work tirelessly across borders to maintain the continuity of our shared cultural memory. This year’s WDAH theme underscores the essential role of these professionals in safeguarding stories, voices, and visual records for future generations.
