“Save your Archive” is a program of FIAT/IFTA launched at the 2012 World Conference in London. Its key purpose is to promote the safeguarding of vulnerable or at-risk audiovisual archives by providing a small fund to support one or more well defined projects, focused on preservation, digitization and valorization of archival content, each year.
Support may also include professional advice, equipment, training as well as direct funding. The “Save your Archive” program is endowed with a special fund each year and may work in cooperation with others bodies, organizations or partners who support its aims. “Save your archive” initiative is part of the FIAT/IFTA core mission to serve the audiovisual archival community and to promote cooperation among its members.
The program is open to any organisation responsible for an audiovisual archive ranging from broadcast material, to newsreel, production rushes or sound recordings and may also include archive of social and cultural value from private collections.
